Seminars

Shorinji Kempo emphasizes fellowship among practitioners and branches, not just locally, but also internationally. Worldwide seminars and study sessions are held on a regular basis, and Yorkville Branch is pleased to participate in these exceptional events.

WSKO Study Sessions

On September 13-14, 2008, the Shorinji Kempo branches of Ontario hosted visitors from Japan’s Kanagawa Federation. This well-attended event was given official seminar status by the World Shorinji Kempo Organization. More information can be found here.

The Ontario branches also hosted WSKO’s 2006 North American Instructors Study Session. Held from September 16-17, 2006, this event featured instructors from Shorinji Kempo’s Japanese headquarters and participants from thirty branches and five countries. Detailed seminar reports are available here and here.

Cornell Camp

Every May, Shorinji Kempo practitioners from around the world gather for the extraordinary Cornell Gasshuku. Held at a lakeside camp in upstate New York, this informal, multi-day event provides unique opportunities to train and socialize with top instructors.
